informed that

the Lords Commissioners

of

the

Admiralty, on the only cevasion on which this matter seems to have

been referred to them, expressed an opinion that private houses cccupied by Naval Officers should

not

not be exempted from taxation; and that, sonsequently, the exemption is granted to Military Officers alone
